SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL AND MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES HELD A TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) organized a training program for administrative staff of the School. The purpose of the training was to equip the staff with requisite skills to undertake their duties effectively.

In his opening remarks, the Dean of SPMS, Prof. Sandow Mark Yidana indicated that for staff to play their supportive roles effectively, the School needed to provide them with the necessary skills. This would enable them contribute towards the attainment of the School and the University’s overall objectives.  He expressed gratitude to the School Administrator for putting the program together, and was thankful to participants for the positive response. He was hopeful that more training would be organized for other categories of staff.

Welcoming the participants, the School Administrator, Ms. Mawuena Abortta expressed her delight at the interest shown by the participants.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Michael Addo-Boateng, Archivist, University of Ghana Archives and Dr. Yvonne Lamptey, Senior Lecturer, Department of Organization and Human Resource Management, University of Ghana Business School.

The Facilitators gave presentations on Records Management, Business Communication, and Office Management.

The training was attended by Mr. Emmanuel Baidoo, College Secretary, College of Basic and Applied Sciences, Mr. J.V.M Nkrumah, Principal Accounting Assistant of the School, and Sixteen (16) Administrative Assistants from the six (6) Departments of the School
